Meet Our Team
Steven Katzman has more than 35 years of legal experience in the Colorado Courts. William Beck worked for many years as a prosecutor, gaining expertise in prosecution tactics before deciding to use that knowledge to defend clients.
Norm Thom was in charge of the public defenders office for the 4th Judicial District. In 1986 Norm Thom founded this firm with Bobby Daniel. They were joined in 2007 by Steven Katzman, who had his own criminal defense and family law firm in the Denver area since 1978. Bobby Lane Daniel passed away in September of 2010.
Steven Katzman is an experienced and caring trial lawyer, representing people accused of criminal offenses in Colorado for over 30 years. Steve graduated from Arapahoe High School in Littleton and the University of Colorado in Boulder. He received his law degree from Lewis and Clark College’s Northwestern School of Law in 1978.
William is an experienced and compassionate attorney who has been representing good people in difficult situations for years. William started his legal career here in Colorado Springs as a Deputy District Attorney, and most recently was in private practice at his own firm. His focus has been on helping the individual in their time of greatest need with a combination of compassionate understanding out of court and aggressive negotiations in court. William (Bill) graduated from Brigham Young University - Idaho with a degree in English, and received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Norm recently retired from our firm, but he still comes in regularly to stay connected to the legal community and our clients. Norm has represented clients for over 40 years and has done an outstanding job. He is well respected throughout the legal community and an irreplaceable asset to the firm. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1975.
Crista Ormandy is a Colorado native. She has a B.A. in Anthropology from Colorado State University and a Paralegal Certificate from Denver Paralegal Institute. She has worked with us since 2001.
Valerie Valdez is also a Colorado Native. Prior to joining our firm in July of 2008 she worked as a legal assistant at a Personal Injury firm. Valerie obtained her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from Pikes Peak Community College.
