Client charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.  Client was in a minor car accident and was taken to the hospital for a blood test which revealed prescription drugs had been taken prior to operating a motor vehicle.  Client was under the care of a physician who had recently changed their medication sleep aid which combined with other prescribed medication inadvertently caused sedation during the day.  This was our client’s third alcohol offense and they was facing  the maximum amount of jail time which because of her disabilities they would have been relegated to the medical ward.  Our attorneys negotiated 180 days of In Home Detention and a guilty plea to the lesser offense of Driving While Ability Impaired with the District Attorney.
